고양시는 지난 3월 31일 시청 평화누리실에서 고양시 신청사 건립사업의 기본 및 실시설계 용역 착수보고회를 개최했다.
이번 착수보고회에는 이춘표 고양시 제2부시장을 비롯하여 시공안전·건축계획·도시계획·건축구조·친환경에너지 각 분야의 전문가 등이 참석했다. 이날 설계자문위원회 위원 위촉식도 함께 진행됐다.

이날 보고회에서는 신청사 기본 및 실시설계 용역 착수에 따라 용역사의 설계 대안 제시와 더불어 각 분야 전문가들의 설계안에 대한 의견제시 및 법률·경제성 검토 등을 다루었다.
또한, 다양한 랜드마크 사례 검토를 통해 신청사가 시의 랜드마크가 될 수 있도록 건립하는 방향 설정에 대한 논의가 이루어졌다.
시는 설계자문위원회 회의를 통해 지속적으로 시민과 전문가의 다양한 의견을 검토하여 반영하고, 2023년 5월까지 실시설계를 마무리할 계획이다.
시는 1983년에 군청사로 지어진 현 청사의 노후화 및 공간부족 문제 등을 해결하기 위해 지난해 8월 ‘고양시 신청사 건립 국제설계공모’를 시행했다. 그리고 지난해 12월 나우동인건축 컨소시엄의 ‘캠퍼스 커뮤니티 플랫폼’이 당선돼 기본 및 실시설계 우선협상권을 부여받았다.
