브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 한덕수 국무총리 후보자가 4일 '론스타의 외환은행 불법매각 의혹'에 대해 "사적으론 전혀 관여된 바가 없다"고 밝혔다.
한덕수 후보자는 이날 오전 국회 인사청문회 준비를 위해 서울 종로구 한국생산성본부 건물에 마련된 청문회 준비단 사무실 첫 출근길에서 기자들과 만난 자리에서 이같이 말했다.
앞서 시민단체 투기자본감시센터는 한덕수 후보자가 2002년 11월부터 2003년 7월까지 약 8개월간 론스타의 국내 법률대리인 법무법인인 김앤장의 고문으로 재직하며 총 1억5000여만원을 받았다면서 한 후보자가 론스타 불법매각을 은폐한 책임자라고 주장하고 있다.
이에 한 후보자는 "론스타 문제에 대해선 국가 정부의 정책 집행자로서 관여한 적이 있다"면서도 "하지만 김앤장이라는 사적인 직장에서 관여한 바는 전혀 없다. 인사청문회에서 질문이 나오면 잘 설명을 할 것"이라고 했다.
한 후보자는 또한 코로나19 손실 보상을 위한 추가경정예산 편성과 관련해선 "코로나 때문에 세계적으로 전쟁을 하고 있다. 위기에 단기적으로 재정이나 금융이 역할을 하는 것은 불가피하다"라면서도 "하지만 대한민국의 부채는 너무 빨리 증가하고 있다. 이렇게 되면 우리 정책의 건전성에 대해 대내외적인 의구심이 생길 수 있다. 중장기적으로 재정 건전성을 가져가겠다는의지와 목표를 다져야 된다"고 말했다.
그러면서 "단기적으로도 최대한 차입이 아닌 지출 구조조정 등이 우선됐으면 좋겠다는 생각"이라고 덧붙였다.
한덕수 후보자는 또한 '재건축 규제 완화'를 밝힌 윤석열 당선인의 입장과 달리 신중해야 결정해야 한다고 밝힌데 대해선 "저는 원칙적인 말씀을 드린 것"이라며 "수도권이나 중요한 지역의 공급을 늘린다는 차원에서는 (재건축을) 해야 되지만 그 와중에 가격이 다소 불안해지면 부작용이 있을 수 있으니, 이를 염두에 두고 체계적으로 추진하자는 것"이라고 했다.
한편 새 정부 장관 인선과 관련해선 "저와 당선인은 거론되는 후보들에 대해 이 분들이 적절한지 논의했지만, 언제 어떤 절차를 밟아서 발표할지는 인수위에 확인해달라"고 말했고, 직접 추천한 인사가 있느냐는 질문엔 "말씀드리기 어렵다"고 즉답을 피했다.
