고양시 종합문화예술창작소 개관

고양시가 고양시 종합문화예술창작소(舊고양 600년 기념전시관)을 준공해 개관식을 개최했다고 4일 밝혔다.

개관식에는 고양시장, 시의회의장, 국회의원, 도의원, 고양문화재단 대표, 고양국제꽃박람회 대표와 고양미협회장, 예술인 등 다양한 문화예술종사자 60여명이 참석했다.

개관식은 시민과 지역예술인에게 창작소 리모델링 과정을 공유하는 자리로 마련되어 경과보고, 운영계획, 라운딩이 진행됐다.

종합문화예술창작소의 주요시설은 작업실 10개, 전시실, 다목적실, 사무실 등이다. 개관식에 참가한 고양미술협회 김재덕 회장은 “시가 지역예술인들의 요청을 수렴해 실현시켜준 좋은 사례이다”고 전했다.

고양시 종합문화예술창작소는 작년 2월 경기도의 ‘유휴공간 문화재생’ 사업에 선정됐다.

시는 총 10억의 사업비를 확보해 작년 11월 착공을 시작했고 올해 3월 준공했다.

시는 “공모를 통해 선정된 입주 작가들이 오는 6월 입주하여 개별적인 창작활동, 상설·기획 전시, 시민예술체험교육 및 상설아트마켓 등을 진행할 예정”이라며 “향후 예술가와 시민이 만나는 ‘문화쉼터’ 공간이자 지역예술인의 창작산실로서의 역할이 기대된다”고 전했다. 고양=박정호기자
