원희룡 위원장은 대선 당시에도 선대본부 정책본부장을 맡아 활동하는 등 윤석열 정부의 정책이해도가 높다. 또 3선 국회의원에 제주도지사도 재선하는 등 행정과 국회 경험을 두루 갖추고 있다는 것도 장점이다. 원 위원장은 현재 원외 인사기 때문에 여소야대 국면에서 국회 의석수가 줄어들지도 않아 부담이 없다.
