고양시가 5일 고양시청 영상회의실에서 한국전력공사 고양지사와 ‘폭염으로 인한 공동주택 정전사고 예방’을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.

이날 협약에 따라 고양시와 한국전력공사 고양지사는 관내 전기실이 있는 공동주택의 여름철 폭염으로 인한 정전사고 예방을 위하여 상호 협력할 예정이다.
박원석 고양시 제1부시장은 “코로나19와 폭염으로 인해 지난해 7월 한 달간 전국 아파트 정전사고가 전년 같은 시기 대비 10배 가까이 증가했다”면서“정전사고를 예방하기 위해 점검계획을 수립하고 개선이 필요한 경우 시정될 수 있도록 조치하여 주민 안전을 확보하고 불편을 최소화할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한국전력공사 김진곤 고양지사장은 “탄소중립이라는 에너지 전환 시대를 맞아 소상공인 전기요금 감면, 아파트 구내설비 고장정전 지원 등 코로나19 위기 극복과 고양시민의 안전을 위하여 최선을 다하고 있다”면서 “업무협약을 통해 여름철 고양시민의 불편함을 최소화할 수 있도록 시와 협력하겠다”고 전했다. 고양=박정호기자
