고양시가 지난 14일 2022년 고양시 신중년대학 강좌 운영을 위한 업무협약을 관내 4개 대학과 체결했다.
협약에 참여한 대학교는 중부대학교, 동국대학교, 한국항공대학교, 농협대학교다.
시는 위 대학들과 협력해 신중년대학을 운영해 신중년(만50세에서 만65세 미만) 고양시민의 인생 재설계를 지원할 예정이다.

교육 과정은 신중년 마인드 셋업 워크샵인 공통과정과 ▲한국항공대학교 사이언스 커뮤니케이터(과학지도자) 양성과정 ▲농협대학교 두 도시 삶 지원과정(귀농.귀촌), 조경 가드닝 과정 ▲동국대학교 드론 및 방송영상 편집 전문가 양성과정, 슬기로운 신중년 인문학 과정 ▲중부대학교 e-세상 디자이너 과정 등 6개 특화과정으로 구성된다.
시는 이번 협약이 신중년 세대의 인생 후반부 재설계를 지원하고 고양시가 평생학습 도시로서 한 단계 발전하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
시는 4월 8일 상반기 참여자 200명 모집을 완료했으며 오는 7월 하반기 과정을 운영할 계획이다.
상반기 특화과정은 대학별 일정에 따라 5월부터 8월까지 운영된다.
