브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 한덕수 국무총리 후보자는 19일 처가가 보유했던 청계천 일대 토지를 부동산 사업 시행자가 주변 시세보다 2배 가량 높은 가격에 매입해 50억원대 차익을 거뒀다는 특혜 의혹에 대해, 전혀 문제없는 정상적 거래라고 해명했다.
한덕수 후보자는 이날 서울 종로구 한국생산성본부 건물에 꾸려진 인사청문준비단 사무실 출근길에 기자들과 만나 "이미 2007년 청문회 때도 나왔던 이야기"라며 이같이 밝혔다.
앞서 노컷뉴스는 당시 땅을 산 시행사 회장이 이명박 대선후보 시절 정책특보였다면서 정부 고위직을 거친 한 후보자가 매매 과정에서 일종의 특혜를 받은 게 아니냐는 의혹을 제기했다.
한 후보자는 이에 대해 "정상적인 거래가 아닌 어떤 추가적이거나 예외적인 것들은 없었다"면서 "모든 세금도 아주 완벽하게 다 납부를 했다"고 말했다.
한 후보자는 이날 별도의 보도설명자료를 통해서도 "처가가 토지 거래로 부동산 개발업자로부터 특혜를 받았다는 의혹은 전혀 사실이 아니다"라며 "처가의 토지거래에 대해 일절 관여하거나 개입한 사실이 없다"고 거듭 밝혔다.
그는 "이명박 정부가 출범한 뒤 주미대사로 부임에 줄곧 해외에 있었다"면서 "국내 부동산 개발사업에 어떤 영향도 미칠 수 없었다"고 주장했다.
