지난 13일 국민의힘 1차 경선 결과가 나온 이후 잇따른 내홍으로 12년 만의 고양시장 탈환을 기대했던 국민의힘이 큰 위기를 맞고 있다.
국민의힘 공천관리위원회(이하 공관위)의 1차 경선 결과 발표 이후 일부 후보 진영에서는 납득 할 수 없는 결과라며 재심을 요청하고, 책임당원들은 당사 앞에서 시위를 진행하는 등 집단 반발은 점점 커지고 있다.

19일에는 국민의힘 고양시 책임당원 약 100여 명이 김필례 예비후보 사무실 앞에서 공정과 상식을 뒤엎는 공관위 규탄 성명서를 발표하고 "14일에 제출한 재심 요청에 대한 결과가 아직까지 나오지 않고 있어 답답한 실정"이라며 "공천관리위원회가 시간 끌기를 하면서 어물쩍 넘어가려는 생각이라면 큰 오산"이라고 강조했다.

이어 또 다른 책임당원은 "지난 대선에서 이른 새벽부터 늦은 밤까지 정권교체에 앞장서 온 김필례 예비후보를 컷오프한 이유가 도대체 무엇인가?"라고 반문하며, "공관위는 각종 여론조사에서 선두권을 유지했던 김필례 예비후보를 당장 경선에 포함시켜야 한다"고 목소리를 높였다.
이번 성명서 발표를 준비한 책임당원 박복남 씨는 "공관위에서 책임당원들의 요청을 묵살한다면 집단탈당도 불사하겠다"며 "공관위의 불공정ㆍ비상식적인 결정에 대해 김필례 예비후보의 무소속 출마 권유 등 모든 수단과 방법을 동원해 무너진 공정과 상식을 바로 세우도록 할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
