물산업 투자 활성화를 위한 ‘물산업 투자기관 협의회’가 22일 출범했다.
한국수자원공사는 22일 오후 서울 신라호텔에서 ‘블루골드 물산업, 미래를 개척하라’를 주제로 ‘물산업 투자 콘퍼런스’를 개최하고, 물산업 투자 활성화를 위한 협의회를 출범시켰다.
이날 행사는 1부와 2부로 나눠 진행됐으며, 물분야 중소·벤처기업들에 투자유치와 판로개척 기회 제공을 위한 부대행사인 홍보 전시 부스 운영, 1:1 투자 및 구매상담회도 함께 진행됐다.
1부에서는 물산업 투자기관 협의회 출범과 물산업 펀드 1호인 ‘충청 지역혁신 벤처 펀드’의 첫 번째 투자를 확정 짓고, 유망 물기업 2개 사*와 투자계약을 체결했다. 이어진 2부에서는 물산업 유망 스타트업 10개 사의 투자연계 IR이 진행됐다.
‘물산업 투자기관 협의회’는 물산업 육성 및 투자 생태계 활성화를 위한 협업 기구로 물산업에 대한 민간 투자자들의 관심과 접근성을 높이고, 유망기업에 대한 투자를 확대하기 위해 출범했다.
협의회는 한국수자원공사와 한국벤처투자, D3쥬빌리파트너스 등 총 12개 기관*이 참여하며, 이들은 물산업 유망기업 정보공유 및 전문 투자심사역 양성 등 기업과 투자자 간 소통을 지원한다. 또 물산업 투자 접근성 제고를 위한 다양한 협력을 추진할 계획이다.

`21년부터 5년간 자체자금 1,000억 원을 투입해 4,300억 원의 자펀드를 만드는 계획을 수립하는 등 물기업 육성을 통한 물산업 활성화 및 경쟁력 강화를 위한 투자에 집중했다.
지난해 3월에는 1,300억 원 펀드 조성을 위한 ’충청 지역혁신 벤처펀드(물산업펀드)‘ 협약에 참여해 물기업 및 충청권 혁신기업에 투자 중이다.
또 11월에는 1,200억 원 펀드 조성을 위한 ’동남권 지역혁신 벤처펀드‘ 협약을 체결, 연내 이를 활용하여 물기업 및 울산·경남지역 혁신기업 등에 투자를 개시할 계획이다.
박재현 한국수자원공사 사장은 “협의회 출범을 계기로 그간 어려움을 겪었던 물분야 유망 스타트업들에 대한 투자가 활발해지기를 기대한다”라며, “앞으로도 혁신기술을 보유한 스타트업들이 글로벌 유니콘 기업으로 성장할 수 있도록 다양한 지원을 통해 최선의 노력을 기울이겠다”고 밝혔다.
