브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 권성동 국민의힘 원내대표는 10일 한동훈 법무부 장관 후보자 인사청문회와 관련 "아무런 잘못이 없고 도덕성에 하자가 없고 능력이나 전문성에 문제가 없는데 민주당은 검증도 하기 전에 이미 낙마 대상자로 정해 놨다"고 낙마 가능성을 일축했다.
권성동 원내대표는 이날 CBS라디오 '김현정의 뉴스쇼'에서 "아무런 문제점이 드러나지 않았음에도 '안 된다' 여기에 따라가면 오히려 대통령 자격이 없다고 본다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "(인사청문회에서) 결정적 한 방은 커녕 약간의 충격을 주는 '잽'도 없었다"며 "낙마라는 답을 정해놓고 뜻대로 되지 않는다고 소리 지르고, 또 이 아무개 교수를 '이모'라고 하는 좀 황당무계한 질문을 하는 걸 보면서 좀 퇴행적인 면을 보여준 청문회가 아니었나 생각한다"고 꼬집었다.
이어 그는 "민주당 의원들이 아무런 문제점이 드러나지 않았음에도 불구하고 안 된다고 헛발질만 했다"며 "이거야말로 전형적인 정치 공세"라고 주장했다.

권성동 원내대표는 또 한동훈 후보자의 '자녀 스펙' 논란에 대해서도 "비판을 위한 비판"이라며 "빈부격차가 엄연히 존재하고 부모의 재력에 따라 교육을 받는 수준에 차이가 나는 건 분명하지만, 그것이 장관으로서의 결격 사유가 될 수는 절대 없다고 생각하고 민주당 의원 중에서도 초등학교, 중학교 때부터 해외 유학 보내는 사람이 한두 명이 아니다"라고 강조했다.
그는 정호영 보건복지부 장관 후보자 임명과 관련해선 "그 부분은 찬반 여론이 있으니까 대통령이 적절하게 판단할 것으로 본다"고 한 후보자와 결을 달리했고, 한덕수 국무총리 국회 인준 표결에 대해선 "오늘 대통령의 1호 법안 1호 안건으로 국회에 제출할 것이다. 진영과 정권을 떠나 능력을 인정받은 분에 대해서 동의를 안 해준다고 하면 결국 발목잡기 밖에 안 되는 건데, 민주당이 정치적 이해득실을 잘 따져서 판단할 것"이라고 했다.
