파주시는 7월1일부터 파주페이 가맹점 등록을 하지 않은 미등록 영업장의 파주페이 결제를 제한한다고 밝혔다.
그동안 파주시는 시민들의 편의를 위해 파주시 등록 가맹점으로 간주하여 별도 신청 절차 없이 파주페이 결제가 가능하도록 운영해왔다.

그러나 지역사랑상품권 이용 활성화에 관한 법률이 개정되면서 가맹점 등록이 의무화됐다.
이에 파주시는 5월 18일부터 6월 17일까지 미등록 가맹점 7천개소에 대해서 파주페이 가맹점 집중등록 기간을 운영한다.
파주페이 가맹점 등록은 ▲파주시청 홈페이지 ▲경기지역화폐 앱 ▲일자리경제과 방문을 통해 가능하다.
정훈수 일자리경제과장은 “파주페이 가맹점 등록이 의무화됨에 따라 등록 절차를 거치지 않은 업소는 파주페이 사용이 불가능해진다.”라며, “시민과 소상공인 모두 불편을 겪지 않도록 사업주에게 적극 홍보하겠다.”라고 밝혔다. 파주=박정호기자
