사회적 거리두기 해제 이후 야외 피크닉에 대한 시민 수요가 높아지는 상황에서 고양시가 성라피크닉장 개장을 앞두고 있다.
대화동 시민피크닉장에 이어 두 번째로 조성된 성라피크닉장은 5월 23일 개장할 예정이다.
1995년에 조성된 성라공원은 약 57만여㎡의 면적으로 일산호수공원에 이어 고양시에서 두 번째로 큰 공원이다.
공원 내 배드민턴장 2개소 및 테니스장, 어린이놀이시설 등이 있으며 공원 주변에는 고양어울림누리 및 축구장 등의 체육문화시설이 위치해 있다.

성라피크닉장은 140여명을 수용할 수 있는 규모로 조성됐다.
피크닉테이블 35개소, 관리사 및 화장실 1동, 공원전경을 감상할 수 있는 티가든 1개소가 구비되어 있으며 경사면과 조화를 이루는 디자인 옹벽, 이용객의 안전 확보를 위한 CCTV 2개소 또한 설치되어 있다.
고양시는 성라피크닉장을 6월 말일까지 시범운영 후 7월부터 본격적으로 고양시 통합예약시스템을 통한 예약 후 이용을 가능하게 할 방침이다.
시 관계자는 “성라피크닉장 개장으로 지역 주민이 가까운 동네에서도 피크닉을 즐길 수 있을 것”이라며 “앞으로도 지역 주민에게 여가활동 공간을 제공하고 방문객이 쾌적하게 이용할 수 있도록 시설운영에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다. 고양=박정호기자
