고양시가 5월 23일부터 고봉산 정상부 전망대 2개소를 시민들에게 개방한다.
고봉산은 일산동구 중산동과 성석동에 위치한 산으로, 일산지역의 허파라 불리며 도심에 인접해 있고 고봉누리길 등 숲길이 조성되어 있어 시민들이 자주 찾는 산이다.

시에서는 그동안 일반인의 출입이 제한되었던 고봉산 정상부에 북한산과 일출을 조망할 수 있는 전망대 1개소와, 일산시가지 및 멀리 북한(개풍군 일대)지역과 일몰을 감상할 수 있는 전망대 등 총 2개소를 설치했다.
전망대는 기존 등산로와 연계되어 있다.
전망대를 이용하려면 고봉산 만경사 입구와 포장도로가 끝나는 영천사 갈림길에서 숲길로 가면 된다.

시는 전망대가 고봉산을 찾는 시민들에게 새로운 볼거리와 휴식공간을 제공할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
시 관계자는 “코로나로 지친 시민들이 건강을 찾고 여가를 즐길 수 있도록 녹지.휴게공간을 확대 조성하고, 전망대 조성과 함께 노후 시설물 일제 정비도 상반기 중 완료할 계획이다”라고 말했다. 고양=박정호기자
