브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 정부 들어 공기업 민영화 논란이 불거지고 있다.
국민의힘에선 허위선동이자 선거를 앞둔 정치공세로 치부하고 있고, 민주당은 윤석열 정부가 공기업 민영화를 예고한 것과 다름없다며 이를 막을 법안을 추진하겠다고 했다.
공기업 민영화 논란은 김대기 대통령 비서실장이 공기업 지분 일부를 매각해야 한다는 발언을 한 뒤부터다. 김대기 실장은 지난 17일 국회 운영위원회에 출석해 '과거 공기업 민영화 찬성 입장이 지금도 유효한가'라는 박찬대 의원 질의에 "인천공항공사의 경우 한국전력처럼 경영은 정부가 하되 30~40% 정도 지분을 민간에 팔자는 것"이라고 답한 바 있다.
이에 더불어민주당은 김 실장의 이같은 발언은 민영화를 예고한 것이라고 비판하며 전기, 철도, 의료 등 민영화 시도를 원천적으로 막는 법을 만들겠다고 밝혔다.

김성환 민주당 정책위의장은 24일 MBC라디오 '시선집중'에서 "김대기 비서실장은 민영화에 가장 앞장섰던 이명박 정부 때 청와대 정책실장이었고, 퇴임 후에는 대표적인 민영화 사냥꾼이라는 맥쿼리 사외이사를 경험해서 여러 가지 과거나 현재 발언을 보면 민영화를 할 가능성이 높아 보인다"고 주장했다.
김성환 위의장은 이어 "인천공항공사 매각은 지금 유정복 인천시장 후보가 의원 시절 인천공항공사법을 개정해서 인천공항 지분의 49%를 매각하겠다고 법을 발의한 적 있지 않나. 이걸 대체로 매입하는 맥쿼리가 시드니공항도 인수해서 공항 사용료가 굉장히 비싸진 해외사례가 있다"면서 "49% 지분이면 굉장히 영향력이 커지는 것 아니겠나. 당연히 수익을 높이려고 할 거고 당연히 공항 사용료가 올라가 결국 국민의 피해로 올 게 눈에 뻔하다"고 지적했다.
김 정책위의장은 한국전력 민영화 의혹도 제기하며 "최근 유가와 석탄가격 인상 탓에 한국전력의 적자가 쌓이고 있다. 문재인 정부에서 연료비 연동제를 도입해 탄력적으로 대응할 수 있게 해놨지만 윤석열 정부는 자산 매각을 통해 적자를 해소하겠다는 계획을 현실화하고 있다"고 강조했다.
박홍근 민주당 원내대표도 이날 당 원내대책회의에서 "(김대기 실장의 발언은) 지분 매각한 돈으로 가덕도 신공항을 짓고, 인천공항도 확장해야 한다, 돈 쓸 데가 많다고 했다"면서 "한 마디로 돈 쓸 데가 많기 때문에 공기업 민영화를 해야 한다는 것 아니냐"고 했다.
박홍근 원내대표는 "전문가들도 민영화를 위한 사전포석 같다고 말한다"며 "이명박 정권이 미처 추진하지 못한 인천공항 민영화에 미련이 남은 것이 아닌지 김 실장 말고 윤석열 대통령이 직접 답해야 한다"고 요구했다.
반면 정부여당은 공기업 민영화 주장은 사실 무근이라며 민주당이 6·1 지방선거를 의식해 괴담을 퍼뜨리고 국민들을 선동하고 있다고 반박했다. 또한 민주당이 선거를 앞두고 허위사실을 유포했다며 공직선거법 위반 혐의로 검찰에 고발했다.

권성동 국민의힘 원내대표는 지난 20일 의원총회에서 "지방선거를 앞두고 민주당의 고위당직자를 비롯해 지지층을 중심으로 민영화 가짜뉴스를 퍼뜨리고 있다"며 "더불어민주당 당명을 내걸고 이런 어처구니없는 허위 선동을 한다는 것이 참으로 기가 막히다"고 맹비난했다.
