브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘 지도부는 1일 지방선거 투표율이 예상보다 저조하자, 투표 독려에 나섰다.
중앙선거관리위원회에 따르면 이날 오전 11시 기준 지방선거 투표율은 12.0%를 기록했다. 지난 2018년 지방선거 당시 동시간대 15.7%를 기록한 것과 비교하면 3.7%포인트 낮다.
국민의힘은 이번 선거 승리를 통해 윤석열 정권 초기 국정 동력을 확보하겠다는 '안정론'을 내세우며 지지를 호소하고 있다.
이준석 대표는 이날 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "투표율이 저조하다"며 "각 지역별로 수고로우시더라도 꼭 지금 투표장으로 가서 투표를 해달라. 선거는 여론조사가 아니라 투표로 결론이 난다"고 밝혔다.
권성동 원내대표도 페이스북을 통해 "국민의힘은 국민과 약속을 했고, 그 약속을 지켜가고 있다"면서 "그리고 약속은 이처럼 많은 변화를 만들어낸다. 약속을 지키는 정치를 선택해달라"고 지지를 호소했다.
