파주시는 6월 10일과 17일, 신규 임용 공무원 50명을 대상으로 평화·통일 역량 강화를 위한 현장체험 교육을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
이번 현장체험 교육은 파주시와 경인통일교육센터가 주최하고 통일부 국립통일교육원의 후원으로 운영됐으며, 북측과 인접한 지역에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 평화·통일에 대한 공감대를 형성하고자 기획됐다.

이번 교육은 통일교육 전문 강사의 현장 해설과 함께 임진각 탐방, 평화곤돌라 탑승, 도라전망대 및 제3땅굴을 견학하는 일정으로 구성됐으며, 분단 현장 답사를 통해 남북 분단의 현실을 직접 목격하고 평화와 통일에 대해 생각해 보는 시간을 가졌다.
