충남도는 전국 최초로 온·오프라인 회의가 가능한 ‘메타버스 가상회의공간’을 구축했다고 29일 밝혔다.
가상회의공간은 메타버스(소통이 가능한 사이버 공간)를 활용해 원격지에서도 오프라인 회의참여가 가능하도록 구축된 공간이다.
이는 영상회의보다 한 차원 발전된 것으로, 소규모 참여자간 대화공간 지정, 휴게공간 등의 차별성을 갖췄다.
가상회의공간은 다음달 1일부터 정식으로 운영되며, 도는 이날 이창규 기획조정실장과 직원 등이 참석한 가운데, 완료보고회를 열고 세부 운영계획을 공유했다.
이 자리에서 강인복 정보화담당관은 “메타버스 가상회의공간은 또 다른 소통방식의 하나로 자리 매김할 것”이라며 사업 소개와 사용방법 등을 설명했다.
충남도는 김태흠 도지사 당선인 취임식 당일 디지털환경에 익숙한 도민과 엠지(MZ)세대 주무관들이 스마트폰을 이용해 메타버스 취임식에 참여하는 이색적인 광경이 펼쳐질 것으로 기대하고 있다.
