충남도의회 12대 전반기를 이끌 의장단이 구성됐다.
충남도의회는 1일 제338회 임시회 1차 본회의를 열고 조길연의원(부여2·국민의힘)을 의장으로, 김복만 의원(금산2·국민의힘)과 홍성현 의원(천안1·국민의힘)이 제1·2부의장으로 각각 선출했다.
조 의장은 재적인원 48명 가운데, 43표를 획득해 전반기 의회를 이끌게 됐다. 김 의원과 홍 의원은 각각 44표, 42표를 받아 제1·2부의장 자리에 올랐다.
조 의장은 “의장의 중책을 맡겨주신 의원님들께 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “더욱 겸손하고 낮은 자세로 경청하며 상생하는 의회를 만들어가기 위해 노력하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
이어 “도민의 뜻이 도정에 반영될 수 있도록 집행부와 끊임없이 소통하는 것은 물론, 견제와 균형, 대안을 제시하는 의정활동을 펼쳐 도의회 전체의 위상과 신뢰를 한층 더 높여 나가겠다”며 “도민의 민심을 엄중히 마음에 새기고, 충남이 당면한 현안들을 해결하기 위해 계속 연구하고 고민하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 조 의장은 부여고등학교와 인천대학교를 졸업하고 충청남도체육회 이사, 충청효교육원 교수 등을 역임했다. 제4대, 제7대, 제11대 충남도의원을 지냈으며, 제11대 충남도의회 후반기 부의장을 맡았다.
