고양시(시장 이동환)가 고양시 관광특화거리 지정을 공모했다. 공모 결과 정발산동 밤리단길 디저트 카페거리, 식사동 구제거리, 흥도동 성사골 음식문화거리 3곳이 고양시 관광특화거리로 지정됐다.
이번에 지정된 3개 거리는 지방보조금 지원 절차에 따라 최대 2천만 원의 보조금을 지원 받는다.
시는 관광 홍보물 제작, 고양시티투어, 관광서포터즈 등 각종 사업 추진에 관광특화거리를 적극 활용할 예정이다.
시는 고양시 곳곳에 숨겨진 특화된 관광자원을 발굴하고 지역 상권을 활성화 시키기 위해 지난 해 6월 「고양시 관광특화거리 조성 및 지원에 관한 조례」를 제정한 후 올해 사업예산으로 1억 원을 편성했다.
정발산동에 위치한 밤리단길은 공방, 엔틱 가구점들을 시작으로 분위기 좋은 카페와 이국적인 맛집들이 들어서며 형성된 거리다.

밤가시마을의 경리단길이라는 뜻의 밤리단길로 불리게 되었다.
지난 3월에는 2022년 경기도 구석구석 테마골목사업 육성 공모 사업지로 선정되어 본격적인 사업 추진을 앞두고 있다.
시는 두 개의 사업을 유기적으로 연계하여 시너지 효과를 노릴 계획이다.
식사동 구제거리는 구제의류를 취급하는 업체들이 자생적으로 모여 형성된 거리로 모델 겸 배우 배정남이 쇼핑을 하는 장면이 방송을 통해 노출되며 유명세를 탔다.

거리 내에 약 100여개의 구제 의류 업체가 입점하고 있으며 일상복은 물론 파티복, 웨딩드레스 등 쉽게 찾아보기 힘든 의류도 만날 수 있다.
흥도동에 위치한 성사골 음식문화거리는 도심에서 시골의 정취를 물씬 느낄 수 있는 독특한 거리이다.

주차장 등 시설이 쾌적하고 삼송지구, 창릉신도시와 일산, 화정, 원당을 잇는 고양시의 중심부에 위치하여 가족단위의 방문이 많다.
인천공항과도 근접해 향후 외국인 관광객의 방문도 기대된다.
시 관계자는 “이번 관광특화거리 지정이 1회성으로 끝나는 것이 아니라 계속적으로 사업을 추진해 나갈 수 있는 마중물 역할을 하기 바란다”며 “앞으로도 고양시 내 숨은 관광자원을 적극 발굴.육성하겠다”고 밝혔다.
