고양시가 여름철 무더위 속에서 시민에게 쉼터를 제공하기 위해 근린공원 내 물놀이장을 개장했다.
식사중앙공원 물놀이장은 7월 2일 개장했으며, 향동체육공원과 중산체육공원 물놀이장은 오는 8일부터 개장할 예정이다.
공원 내 물놀이장은 여름철 아이와 그 보호자들에게 인기가 많은 시설이었지만 코로나19로 인해 2년간 개장하지 못했다.

물놀이장 운영시간은 오전 10시부터 오후 4시까지이다. 8월말까지 두 달간 운영되며 시민 누구나 무료로 이용할 수 있다.
시설물 점검과 청소를 위해 매주 월요일에는 휴장하고 우천시에는 운영하지 않는다.
다만 광복절 연휴기간의 경우 정상 운영한다.
시에서는 물놀이장 개장에 앞서 시설물 정기검사와 보수를 완료했으며 이용객의 안전을 위해 안전관리요원을 상시 배치하여 운영하고 깨끗한 수질 제공을 위하여 수질검사도 정기적으로 실시하고 있다.
시 관계자는 “무더위에 지친 시민에게 여름철 안전하고 쾌적한 환경을 제공하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”라고 밝히며 “마스크 착용 등 개인별 안전수칙 준수와 위생관리에 협조해 주시기 바란다”고 전했다. 고양=박정호기자
