당 대표 출마를 선언한 강훈식 국회의원이 지난 9일 67년간 민주당을 지켜온 황규영 원로당원(29년생)을 자택인 충남 천안에서 예방했다.
황규영 당원은 창당 당시부터 지금까지 당적을 이탈한 적 없이 67년 간 민주당의 역사를 함께 한 원로로 알려져 있다.
문재인 대통령도 대통령에 당선되기 전 2015년(당대표 후보시절)과 2017년, 두 차례 황 원로당원을 직접 방문한 적이 있다.
