김경일 파주시장은 이 자리에서 “본인도 의회주의자로 파주시의회가 빨리 정상화돼 조례 재·개정 등 시정 현안사항을 처리하고, 시민들 눈높이에 맞게 시민들의 입장에서, 올바른 방향이면 여야 상관없이 협조해 주시길 당부드린다”며, “파주시와 시의회 모두 시민의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 노력하자”라고 말했다.
