창원시 청소년의 차세대 글로벌리더 양성 발판 마련

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원시 청소년들이 글로벌리더로 성장할 수 있도록 돕고 다자외교 체험 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련된 2022 창원시 청소년 도시외교 사절단 프로그램이 지난 1일부터 3일까지 서울 일원에서 진행됐다.

청소년들은 이번 프로그램을 통해 AFoCO(아시아산림협력기구), 유네스코한국위원회, 국립외교원, 주한호주대사관 등을 방문해 청소년들의 국제 외교에 대한 관심을 충족시키고, 공공외교 활동에 대해 더 깊이 이해하는 다양한 프로그램을 마련했다.

관내·외 16개교에서 선발된 27명의 학생들은 AFoCO(아시아산림협력기구)에서 국제기구 연수생들과 미래산림 활용방안에 대해 토론했으며, 국립외교원에서는 외교관과 1:1대화의 시간을 가졌다.

주한호주대사관에서는 대사관의 역할 및 한국 과 호주의 전반적인 교류현황에 대한 설명을 들었으며, 이 외에도 국회 본회의장, 청와대와 서울대학교를 둘러보며 학생들은 미래 비전을 꿈꾸는 의미 있는 시간을 가졌다.

이경석 투자유치단장은 “참가학생들이 글로벌 인재로 성장하고 세계시민으로 역량을 높일 수 있도록 다양한 기관과 이에 걸맞은 연사들을 섭외하였다.”며 “이번 프로그램을 통해 차세대 글로벌리더로 성장할 수 있는 디딤돌이 되었길 바라며, 앞으로 창원시와 한국을 알리는 공공외교 대사가 돼주길 기대한다”고 말했다.
