세종시의회 교육안전위원회(위원장 이소희)는 4일 조치원중학교 이전 현황과 해밀초등학교 마을 연계 운영 우수사례를 파악하기 위해 현장 방문을 실시했다.
이날 현장 방문은 지난해 조치원중 이전에 따른 학교 현장을 확인하고 마을과 학교가 연계된 해밀초등학교의 다양한 활동 우수사례를 면밀히 검토하기 위해 마련됐다.
교안위 위원들은 조치원중(교장 오희숙)에서 최근 학교 운영의 고충과 지역 특색에 맞는 교육여건에 관해 협의하고 남녀공학 및 학교 운동부 운영 등 교육환경 변화에 대한 의견을 수렴했다.
또 위원들은 해밀초(교장 유우석)에서 마을 협업과 학부모 참여 활성화를 위한 교육 주체들의 경험담을 듣고 학교 공간 활용 및 시설물을 점검했다.
이와 함께 해밀초 만의 특색 있는 교육과정인 ‘해밀햇살’에 관한 우수사례도 청취했다.
교안위는 해밀초의 우수사례를 다각적으로 검토해서 향후 미래 세종교육의 발전적인 방향을 제시하는 데 활용할 계획이다.
이소희 위원장은 “세종시는 교육지원청이 없는 단층형 구조로 교육청에서 다양한 학교 지원 방안을 모색해야 하는 어려움이 있다”며 “최근 사회변화와 미래 교육에 대응하기 위해 학생에게 필요한 정책에 대한 현장 의견을 세심히 듣고 교육청과 협업을 원만히 이뤄나갈 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
