[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 거창문화원(원장 안철우)이 16일 웅앙면 김면장군 공원에서 ‘제430주년 임진왜란 우척현 전투 전승 기념제전’을 개최했다.
임진왜란 우척현 전투는 임진왜란 초기인 1592년 8월 16일 김면, 정인홍, 곽준, 문위 등의 의병장들이 거창에서 창의한 의병들과 함께 일본군 1,500명을 격파해 전라도 진격을 저지시킨 역사적인 전투이다.
전승 기념제전은 나라를 위해 희생한 김면 장군 등 총 아홉 분의 위패를 모시고 의병장들과 무명의병들의 넋을 기리며 선조들의 숭고한 희생정신과 호국정신을 기념하기 위한 행사이다.

이날 행사는 거창문화원이 주최하고 우척현전승기념제위원회가 주관했으며, 거창국악단의 진혼무와 제례악 연주를 시작으로 추모제와 전승기념제 순서로 진행됐다.
초헌관 이종하 거창 부군수, 아헌관 이홍희 거창군의회 의장, 종헌관 문홍기 문위 의병장 후손을 비롯한 200여명의 의병 후손과 군민들이 참여해 엄숙한 분위기 속에서 거행됐다.
초헌관으로 참여한 이종하 부군수는 “우척현 전투의 역사적 의미가 제대로 정의될 수 있도록 군에서도 적극적인 관심과 지원방안을 강구하겠다”고 말했다.
