[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도와 BNK경남은행이 손잡고 2024년까지 사회취약계층 1000여명에게 250억원의 채무를 탕감한다.
경상남도와 BNK경남은행은 17일 도청 소회의실에서 경남 지역의 사회취약계층에게 새출발을 기원하는 ‘부실채권 탕감 프로그램 업무협약’을 체결했다.
이번 협약은 코로나19로 도내 사회취약계층의 금융활동 위축을 막고 재기의 발판을 제공하기 위해 마련됐으며, 지원대상은 상환능력이 없는 70세 이상 채무자와 기초생활수급자, 차상위계층, 기초연금수급자로 소멸시효 연장 없이 부실채권을 탕감시켜 준다.
올해 229명을 대상으로 54억 원 규모로 출발해 2024년까지 총 250억여 원을 탕감해 약 1,000명이 넘는 사회취약계층이 새출발을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
박완수 도지사는 “도내 사회취약계층의 짐을 덜어드리는 데 함께 해주신 경남은행에 감사드린다”며 “경남도는 사회취약계층이 새롭게 출발하고 희망을 가질 수 있도록 관심과 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
김지완 BNK금융지주회장은 “어려운 도민들이 새로운 삶을 살 수 있는 계기가 됐으면 한다”며 “BNK는 앞으로도 기업인 등 도민들과 상생할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
