[브레이크뉴스=양영석기자] 고성군이 인구감소로 인한 지방소멸 위기에 대응하고자 도입된 지방소멸대응기금에서 기초, 광역기금 합쳐 경남도내 군부 중 세 번째로 많은 221억 원을 확보해 인구감소 문제 해결에 적극 나선다고 18일 밝혔다.
지난해 10월 행정안전부에서 신설한 ‘지방소멸대응기금’은 지역소멸 및 인구감소 문제가 심각한 전국 89개 지자체(인구감소지역 지정)에 대해 10년간 총 10조 원 규모의 기금을 배분하는 사업으로, 지자체별 투자계획 평가 후 차등 배분을 원칙으로 한다.
군은 ‘지방소멸대응기금’을 위해 올해 1월 '22~'23년도 2개년 투자계획 수립 용역을 시작으로 지역 특성을 반영한 우수 사업을 발굴하고자 경상남도 및 행안부 자문단의 컨설팅과 고성군 자문단의 의견 수렴 과정 등을 거쳐 6개 투자사업을 제출했으며, 지방소멸대응기금 심의위원회의 심의 결과 140억 원을 확보하게 돼 광역기금 81억 원 포함 최대 221억 원을 받는다.
이로 인해 민선 8기 공약사업인 전국 최고의 스포츠 메카 조성, 에너지 복지 향상, 습지보호지역 조성 및 생태 관광 자원화 등 관련 사업이 탄력을 받게 될 전망이다.
