파주시 운정2동은 지역사회보장협의체(위원장 신영균)와 함께 렌즈미 운정점(대표 엄기훈)을 ‘운정2웃 사랑나눔가게 5호’로 선정하고 지난 23일 현판을 제공했다고 밝혔다.
‘운정2웃 사랑나눔가게’는 재능기부 등 다양한 방법으로 나눔을 실천하는 업체에 현판을 전달해 자긍심을 높이고 관내 기부문화를 조성하고자 추진된 사업이다.

렌즈미 운정점은 지난해부터 운정2동의 ‘행복나눔 안경지원사업’을 후원하고 있으며, 운정2동 소재 10개 학교(초등학교 5개, 중학교 3개, 고등학교 1개, 특수학교 1개)와 협력해 가정형편으로 안경 구입이 어려운 청소년을 추천받는다.
추천받은 대상자에게 안경구매권을 지급해 나눔을 실천했으며, 현재까지 매월 7명씩 총 84명의 저소득 청소년에게 안경(또는 렌즈)을 지원해 이웃사랑을 실천해왔다.

엄기훈 렌즈미 대표는 “학업에 열중해야 할 아이들에게 보탬이 될 수 있어 보람을 느끼며, 앞으로도 기부를 통해 희망을 전달하는 가게가 되겠다”고 말했다.
