파주시새마을회는 25일 탄현면 통일동산 일원에서 탄소중립 실천을 위한 ‘줍깅데이’ 행사를 실시했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 새벽종(단장 이대재), 새마을지도자파주시협의회(회장 신경재), 파주시새마을부녀회(회장 김명자), 새마을교통봉사대 파주지대(대장 조두현) 등 새마을지도자 및 시민 200여 명이 참여해 자연정화활동 ‘줍깅’을 진행했다.

‘새벽종’이라는 이름처럼 새벽부터 모여 관광객이 많은 통일동산 일원의 쓰레기를 줍고 운동을 실시했다.
김경선 파주시새마을회장은 “다가오는 추석을 맞아 시를 방문하는 분들이 깨끗하고 쾌적한 파주시에서 좋은 추억을 만드시길 바란다”고 전했다.

이인숙 민원봉사과장은 “앞으로 새벽종의 활동이 환경보호를 실천하는 하나의 문화로 정착되는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
