[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 의령군 의병박물관이 ‘제2전시관 증축사업 기본 및 실시설계 용역 최종 보고회’를 개최했다.
이번 사업은 임진왜란 의병 중심의 현)의병박물관을 조선후기의 한말의병 및 일제강점기 독립운동가까지 조명해 명실공히 의병종합박물관으로 발돋움하기 위해 추진 중인 사업으로 민선8기 오태완 군수의 공약사업이기도 하다.
이날 보고회에서는 지난 5월 중간보고회 때 나온 의견을 반영해 건물디자인과 전시실규모, 야외조경시설 등의 적합성과 관람 동선 등을 분석한 결과가 발표됐다.
오태완 군수는 “의병박물관은 충익사와 더불어 의병으로 대표되는 우리나라의 국난극복을 대표하는 상징적인 공간임을 특별히 유념하여 ‘제2전시관 증축사업’이 잘 추진될 수 있도록 노력해 달라”고 당부했다.
문화체육관광부의 공립박물관 설립(증축) 사전평가를 통과하여 국·도비를 포함한 총 53억 원의 사업비가 투입되는 이번사업은 올 하반기에 착공하여 2024년 4월 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.
한편 의병박물관은 제2전시관 증축을 통해 의령지역의 한말의병과 독립운동가를 다룬 상설전시실, 역사체험공간인 어린이박물관, 다양한 기획전과 초대전 등을 열 수 있는 기획전시실을 갖춘 종합박물관으로 만들어 나간다는 계획이다.
