국가철도공단은 민족 대명절인 추석을 맞아 본사 및 지역본부가 위치한 6개 지역(대전, 서울, 부산, 광주, 순천, 원주) 소재 복지기관을 대상으로 추석맞이 희망 나눔 활동을 진행했다.
공단은 30일(화)부터 나흘간 지역의 아동, 노인, 장애인, 미혼모 등 16개 복지기관을 방문해 2천만원 상당의 지원금과 후원 물품을 전달할 예정이다.
한편, 공단은 2004년 창립 이래 설·추석 나눔 활동으로 4억 7천만원 상당의 후원금과 생필품을 지역사회에 지원하며 나눔 문화 확산에 앞장서고 있다.
