고양시는 2022년 도시재창조 한마당 우수사례 경진대회에서 대상을 수상했다고 7일 밝혔다.
이번 경진대회에서 고양시는 민간혁신 분야에서 대상을, 지역특화 우수상품 분야에서 우수상을 획득해 2관왕을 달성했다.
도시재창조 한마당은 올해 7회를 맞는 도시재생 축제의 장이다.
도시재생 사업 성과와 새로운 비전, 정책 방향을 공유하고 소통하기 위해 국토교통부가 주최하고 전국 도시재생 추진 지자체 및 민간기업, 주민 등이 참여한다.

특히 고양시는 지역상권 내의 갈등을 해결하기 위해 민간기업, 소상공인, 재단, 행정이 협력해 구체적인 성과를 낸 것이 높은 평가를 받았다.
한편 고양시는 지난 8월 원당지역이 국토교통부 실시 ‘2022년 도시재생 뉴딜사업 추진실적 및 종합성과 평가’에서 우수한 성적을 거두는 등 성공적인 도시재생 성과를 배출하고 있다.
시 관계자는 “현장에서 주민과 긴밀하게 소통하면서 지역의 문제점과 니즈를 정확히 분석해 사업을 추진한 성과”라고 말하며 “도시재생 정책이 급변하는 상황이지만 고양시 경제활성화와 균형발전을 위해 더욱 지역의 목소리에 귀 기울여 사업을 추진하겠다.”고 말했다.[고양=박정호기자]
