대전시 서구가 별다른 안전조치 없이 보도 블럭 정비공사에 나서면서 인근 주민들로부터 원성을 사고 있다.
현장 관리가 제대로 안되면서 이 일대 도로는 건설자재와 폐기물 등으로 수 개월 째 몸살을 앓고 있다.
29일 브레이크 뉴스가 취재한 것을 종합하면 대전시 서구는 지난 7월 월평동 507번지 일원 정비 사업에 들어갔다.
월평북로 ,월평동로, 둔산대로 구간 보도 블록을 교체하는 사업으로 면적만 3,110㎡에 달한다.
하지만 공사 구간에 설치된 안전장치는 안전 띠가 전부이다. 그나마 안전 띠도 군데 군데 설치돼 있다. 안전을 위한 것인지 단지 표면적으로 해 놓은 줄인지 알 수가 없다.
이러다 보니 보행자 안전이 위협을 받고 있다.
안전위험은 본격적으로 공사에 나선 7월부터 지금까지 이어지고 있다.
앞서 구민들은 여러차례 해당구청인 대전서구에 호소했지만 묵살당했다.
산업안전보건법엔 폐기물 처분 계획을 세우라고 돼 있지만 이것마저도 지키지 않고 있다.
실제로 28일 오후, 건설장비와 포크레인 등을 동원해 작업을 하고 있었지만 현장에는 폐기물과 토사 등이 그대로 쌓여 있었다.

공사 과정에서 나온 폐기물은 즉시 반출해야 하지만, 작업 현장에 쌓아둔 것이다.
상황이 이런 대도 감독청인 대전시 서구는 안전조치를 취하지 않고 공사에만 급급하다.
이를 두고 한 주민은 "해당구청이 안전에 대한 인식과 처리에 너무 안이한 것 아니냐"는 반응이다.
인근 주민 K 모 씨도 " "임시보행로도 없어서 통행하려면 공사 중인 인도를 이용하거나 차도를 이용해야 하고 횡단보도 앞까지 공사가 진행 중이라 횡단보도도 이용하기 어렵다"면서 "이곳을 지날 때마다 안전이 걱정된다"고 말했다.
그러면서 " 구가 이런 사실을 알고 있으면서도 묵인하거나 단순 시정 조치만으로 끝내고 있어 사실상 방관하는 것이 아니냐"고 지적했다.
논란이 불거지자 구 관계자는 "불편을 최소화 하도록 개선하겠다"고 말했다.
