충남도가 12일 계룡군문화엑스포 행사장에서 제27회 충남도민의 날 행사를 개최했다.
김태흠 충남도지사가 도민들과 함께 ‘힘찬 비상! 힘쎈충남을 향한 도전’을 다짐하며 개최한 도민의 날 기념식에서 김태흠 지사는 “중간만 가는 충남, 밋밋하고 특색 없는 충남이 아니라 명확한 목표와 방향으로 열정적으로 달려 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
김 지사는 이어 “충남이 선도적 정책을 만들어 내고 이를 중앙정부와 다른 시도로 전파해 변화와 발전의 원동력이 되어야 한다”며 “행복하고 잘사는 충남, 힘세고 강한 충남을 희망하는 220만 도민의 염원을 강한 추진력으로 실현하겠다”고 말했다.
이날 행사는 충남국악단, 한국케이팝(K-POP)고등학교의 식전행사를 시작으로, 육군 군악의장대대 취타대 입장 퍼레이드, 제32보병사단 부사관 부부의 도민헌장 낭독, 모범도민 표창 등 순으로 진행했다.
올해로 27회째를 맞은 충남도민의 날은 1996년 ‘개도 100주년 기념식’을 통해 10월 5일을 도민의 날로 제정·선포된 기념일로, 10월 초 백제의 웅진천도 시기를 고려해 지정했다.
충남도는 1997년 이후 23년 만인 2020년부터 도민의 날을 단독 기념행사로 개최하고 있으며, 올해는 2022 계룡세계군문화엑스포와 연계해 도민 화합의 의미를 더했다.
한편 220만 도민의 자긍심 고취와 지역의 화합·안정을 도모하기 위해 ‘힘찬 비상!, 다 함께, 더 힘차게’라는 주제로 열린 제27회 도민의 날에는 김 지사를 비롯해 도민 1500여 명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
