거창 인구증가 도시 실현 추진

[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군이 ‘인구증가 도시 실현’을 위해 바르게살기운동거창군협의회와 인구늘리기 민·관 공동대응 실천 협약을 체결했다.

이날 협약식은 김홍조 바르게살기운동거창군협의회 회장을 비롯해 수석부회장, 여성회장, 청년회장 등 회원 30여명이 참석했으며 국가와 군의 인구 정책동향을 공유하고 협약체결을 통해 인구늘리기 실천의지를 다졌다.

군은 인구가 소폭이지만 지속적으로 감소하고 있는 가운데 6만 인구 붕괴 위험을 극복하기 위해 지난 8월 31일부터 거창군이장자율협의회 등과 협약을 체결하는 등 관내 기관·단체와 인구늘리기 민·관 공동대응 릴레이 협약을 추진하고 있다.

군은 지난 8월 31일 거창군이장자율협의회와의 1호 협약을 시작으로 거창군청년네트워크와 2호 협약, 거창군새마을회와 3호 협약 체결에 이어 바르게살기운동거창군협의회와 4호 협약을 체결했다.

구인모 거창군수는 “초저출산 장기화, 생산연령인구 감소가 확대되는 등 인구구조 변화가 예상보다 빠르게 진행되면서 경제사회 전반에 걸쳐 다양하고 광범위한 위험요인으로 나타나고 있다”며 “인구감소 문제에 민·관이 함께 경각심을 가지고 인구감소 속도를 최대한 완화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

거창군은 2020년 이후 현재 도내 군부 인구수 2위를 유지하고 있으며 지난 8월 31일부터 전 이장 2인 인구 늘리기 프로젝트를 추진한 결과 128명의 전입 성과를 달성했다.
