[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 의령군 관내 올해만 10명의 어르신이 ‘100세’를 맞이했다.
지금까지 100세 이상 어르신은 6명이었지만 올해 한꺼번에 10명이 추가로 늘어난 것이다.
군은 올해로 100세를 맞으신 어르신 10명에게 장수 지팡이인 청려장을 전달했다.
오태완 군수는 13일 칠곡면 여태엽 100세 어르신 가정을 방문해 장수지팡이와 대통령 축하 서한문을 전달했다.
여태엽 어르신은 100세의 연세로 아직도 왕성한 농사일을 하고 있어 많은 사람에게 놀라움을 안겼다.
여태엽 어르신은 장수비결로 ‘좋은 공기’와 ‘금주’를 꼽았다. 일반적인 상식과 다르게 육류 섭취를 즐겨하신다는 93세 배우자의 타박 아닌 타박에 참석자들 사이에 한바탕 웃음꽃이 피었다.
오태완 군수는 “청정 고장 의령에서 모든 어르신이 행복하게 무병장수하시길 기원한다”며 “부족함이 없도록 노인복지를 세심히 챙기겠다”고 말했다.
의령군은 70세 이상 노인에게 이·미용 및 목욕비와 80세 이상 노인과 3대가 함께 생활하는 가정에 대하여 효도장려금 지원하는 등 차별화된 노인복지정책을 발굴해 추진하고 있다.
