[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김영삼 전 대통령 서거 7주기 추모식이 22일 고향인 거제시 장목면 대계마을에서 열렸다.
김 전 대통령기록전시관(생가 옆) 앞 광장에서 개최된 이날 추모식에는 서일준 국회의원, 박종우 거제시장, 윤부원 거제시의회 의장, 정병원 거제경찰서장, 정태민 거제대대장, 주태돈 거제소방서장, 출향인사, 시민 등 200여명이 참석했다.
추모식은 추모사와 추모영상 상영, 추모시 낭송, 추모 공연, 헌화 순으로 진행됐다.
박종우 시장은 추모사에서 “우리가 민주주의 국가로서 풍요와 자유를 누리고 있는 것은 대통령님의 의로운 투쟁이 있었기 때문이다. 통합과 화합이라는 대통령님의 마지막 말씀을 기억하며 지금의 위기를 슬기롭게 헤쳐나가겠다.”고 말했다.
추모사에 이어 거제시소년소녀합창단이 ‘따오기’와 ‘고향의 봄’을 불렀고, 거제시 문인협회 고혜량씨가 ‘그때는 몰랐습니다’라는 윤일광 시인의 추모시를 낭송했다.
이어 김 전 대통령의 둘째 아들인 현철씨가 유족을 대표해 추모식 참석자들에게 감사 인사를 전했으며, 이어지는 추모공연에서는 성악가 김성경 교수와 조윤환 교수가 ‘메기의 추억’, ‘선구자’를 부르며 고인을 그리워하는 시간을 가졌다.
이후 참석자들은 헌화에 이어 생가와 기록전시관을 둘러보면서 고인을 추모했다.
