브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 한국농축산연합회가 농협중앙회장 연임제 도입을 주요내용으로 하는 ‘농업협동조합법 일부개정안’의 빠른 국회통과를 촉구했다.
연합회는 6일 성명서를 내며, 중앙회장 임기를 현 단임제에서 연임제로 연장, 농협중앙회의 위상향상과 농업농촌을 위한 활동을 강화해야 한다고 주장했다.

계속해서 “농협중앙회는 농업인들을 지원하기 위한 사업을 보다 적극적으로 수행해야 한다”며 “중앙회장 연임을 통해 대외적 위상이 강화되면 농협은 시장경쟁에서 한층 유리해지고, 내년에 시행되는 고향사랑기부제 등 농업·농촌·농업인을 위한 제도변화 속에서 농협중앙회가 큰 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다”고 강조했다.
연합회는 “5회에 걸친 전문가 및 지역별 설명회 결과, 다수의 의견은 농협중앙회장의 연임 허용을 통한 농협의 역할강화 및 위상향상이 필요하다는 것이었다”며 “각 계, 각 지역의 의견을 수렴했고 긍정적 평가를 얻은 만큼, 이번 정기국회 기간 중 농협법을 개정해야 한다”고 전했다.
