‘함안사랑택시 운영 지원 사업’은 저소득 만성질환자의 병원 이동 편의 제공을 위해 2013년 군 자체 재원으로 시작했다.
협약식에는 조근제 군수와 협약 택시업체 대표자, 관계 공무원이 참석했으며, 함안사랑택시의 원활한 운영을 위해 권역별 협약업체인 (유)통일택시, 함안택시(유)와 함께 사업운영과 지원, 안전과 이용자 권리보호 등의 내용으로 협약을 체결했다.
협약 택시업체는 사업 기간 중 함안사랑택시 이용지원 대상자가 진료를 위해 병원을 안전하게 오가도록 이동 수단을 제공한다.
함안사랑택시 이용을 원하는 경우 각 읍·면사무소에 접수해 군의 승인을 거쳐야 하며, 서비스 이용 대상자로 선정되면 1인당 월 11만원 내의 금액을 지원받으며 1회에 3000원만 스스로 부담하면 된다.
관내는 월 5회, 관외는 횟수 제한 없이 8만원 내에서 지원되며 지원 한도를 초과한 금액은 이용자가 부담한다.
