[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 밀양시는 경상남도에서 실시한 ‘2022년 지방하천정비 평가’에서 최우수 기관으로 선정됐다고 19일 밝혔다.
이번 하천정비 평가는 도내 18개 시·군을 대상으로 지방하천의 제방, 호안, 하천시설물, 친수공간 정비 및 하천 불법행위 단속 등 지방하천 유지관리에 대한 전반적인 실태를 춘계(5월), 추계(11월) 두 차례에 걸쳐 종합적으로 현지 평가했다.
특히 밀양시는 관내 지방하천 47개소(L=262.5㎞)에 대해 2022년 약 92억 원의 예산을 투입해 하천시설물 정비 및 집중호우와 태풍 ‘힌남노’ 피해에 따른 복구, 유수 흐름에 지장을 초래하는 퇴적토 준설, 지장목 제거 등을 통해 하천 재해로부터 시민의 생명과 재산 보호는 물론 삶의 질 향상에 기여하는 등 하천 유지관리에서 호평을 받았다.
