[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 의령군 오태완 군수가 영혼의 단짝 직원에게 소고기로 크게 한턱 내 화제가 되고 있다.
발단은 지난 10월 17일 오 군수와 8급 이하 직원 100명이 토크로 ‘한판 대결’을 펼쳤다.
'태완이가 궁금해"라는 부제가 달린 이른바 '생각이음콘서트'였다.
이날 오태완 군수의 영혼의 단짝을 찾는 '두근두근 밸런스 게임'이 열렸다.
밸런스 게임은 '현빈으로 한번 살아보기 VS 군수 한 번 더 하기'와 같은 다소 엉뚱 맞은 질문에 하나를 선택하는 것으로 10개가 넘는 질문에 오 군수와 똑같은 답을 선택해 놀라움을 안긴 직원이 탄생한 것이다.
주인공은 도시재생과 박지민 주무관으로 그에게는 깜짝 우승 선물로 '군수님과 식사권이' 주어졌다.
당시 박 주무관은 심경을 알 수 없는 표정으로 당혹감을 내비쳤는데 오 군수는 최고 등급의 한우를 사겠다고 약속하자 여기저기서 환호성과 큰 박수가 터져 나왔다.
약속은 23일 정오에 이뤄졌다. 오 군수는 박지민 주무관과 동료 8급 직원 3명을 불러 소고기로 점심 식사를 대접했다.
오 군수는 "젊은 직원들과 조금 더 격의 없이 지냈으면 좋겠다. 자식 같은 여러분들을 위해 고향의 아버지 같은 역할을 하고 싶다"는 말로 운을 뗐다.
박 주무관은 "올해 마지막 좋은 선물을 받은 것 같다. 그냥 지나치지 않고 약속을 지켜주셔서 감사할 따름"이라고 말했다.

한편 이날 점심 식사에는 젊은 직원들의 고민 상담이 넘쳐났다. 승진, 전보 등 공무원 인사 문제부터 연애, 결혼 등의 사적인 고민까지 다양한 화젯거리가 식탁에 올랐다. 오 군수는 응원의 말로 이들을 격려했다.
박 주무관은 의령군 유일한 도시계획직 공무원으로서의 애로사항을 건의했고, 나머지 직원들은 하위직 공무원으로서 겪는 고충을 서슴없이 전달했다.
또 젊은 청년들이 의령에서 생활하기 현실적으로 쉽지 않은 측면을 다양한 사례로 설명하며 대화를 이어갔다.
오 군수는 "하위직 공무원 인사 고충의 문제는 수용할 수 있는 범위에서 과감히 개편하겠다"고 약속했다.
그는 "젊은 직원들이 의령서 결혼하고 아이 낳고 경제 활동을 이어갔으면 좋겠다"며 "청년들이 뿌리내릴 수 있도록 더 살기 좋은 의령을 만드는 것이 나의 최종 꿈"이라고 말했다.
한편 의령군은 새로운 상상과 지혜로운 경험의 생각들을 연결해 소멸 위기 의령을 되살리는 프로젝트인 ‘생각이음의 날’을 매월 첫 번째·세 번째 수요일에 개최하고 있다.
