26일 남하한 북한 무인기는 5대로 확인됐다. 북한 무인기는 서울 북부지역과 경기도 강화, 파주 등을 7시간동안 휘젓고 다니다 북한으로 돌아갔다. 우리 군은 격추작전에 나섰지만 단 1대도 격추하지 못했다.

북한 무인기들은 이날 오전 남하해 7시간 가량 우리 상공에 머문 것으로 추측하고 있다.
우리 군은 무인기 도발에 대응하기 위해 공군 전투기, 공격헬기 등을 출격시켰다. 이 과정에서 강원 원주기지에서 출격한 KA-1 경공격기 1대가 이륙 직후 추락하는 사고도 발생했다.
인천 강화군 교동도 서쪽 해안에서 공격헬기 레이더에 무인기가 포착돼 20㎜ 포로 100여 발 사격을 가했으나 격추에는 실패했다.
군 관계자는 "우리 국민의 피해를 발생시키지 않는 범위 내에서 대응했다"고 밝혔다.
군은 아울러 무인기 조작 인원이 있을 것으로 추정되는 북측을 향해 경고 방송과 함께 경고 사격을 가하기도 했다고 전했다.
