새해에도 건강하고 행복 가득한 한 해가 되시길 기원합니다.
지난해를 돌아보면 다사다난(多事多難)이라는 말이 그 어느 때보다 우리에게 와 닿는 한 해였던 거 같습니다.
코로나19 여파가 채 가시기도 전에 엎친 데 덮친 격으로 지난 8월에는 유례를 찾기 힘들 정도의 기록적인 폭우가 여주와 양평에 쏟아졌고, 수마가 할퀴고 간 자리에는 심각한 인적·물적 피해로 주민들의 아픔은 컸습니다.
하지만 여주·양평 가족 여러분은 좌절하지 않았고, 저 또한 여러분과 하나 되어 어려움을 이겨내려 최선을 다했습니다. 그 결과, 우리 여주·양평은 그 어느 지역보다 빨리 특별재난지역으로 선포돼 수마의 상처를 극복하고 일상을 되찾을 수 있었습니다.
