설동호 대전시교육감이 2023년 대전교육은 학령인구 감소, 기후위기, 디지털교육 전환 등 급변하는 사회와 교육환경 변화에 민첩하게 대응하고, 미래교육을 선도하기 위해 교육의 내용과 방법을 혁신하여 우리 학생들의 미래역량을 키워 나갈 것이라고 밝혔다.
새해 신년사를 통해 이 같이 구상을 밝힌 설 교육감은 새해 대전교육교육 계획으로 미래를 선도하는 창의융합교육을 지속적으로 추진, 학생들의 배움과 성장이 중심이 되는 혁신교육을 강화, 교육기회를 보장하는 책임교육 완성, 안전하고 건강한 교육환경 조성, 소통하고 협력하는 교육행정 구현 등 교육활동을 추진하겠다고 밝혔다.

대전교육은 3년째 지속된 코로나19 상황에서 교육가족 모두가 한마음으로 지혜와 역량을 모아 학교 일상을 회복하고, 교육 회복을 추진하며 미래교육으로의 성장을 위해 최선의 노력을 다해왔습니다.
초·중·고 교실에 스마트 단말기와 스마트 칠판을 보급하는 등 미래교육 전환에 맞는 디지털 교육환경을 조성하였으며, 교사학습공동체 운영을 활성화하여 변화하는 교육과정에 발맞춘 교원들의 전문성을 제고하였습니다.
또한, 코로나19로 인해 주춤하였던 국내외 학생 체험 프로그램을 정상화하고 학력격차 해소를 위해 기초학력 책임교육을 강화하는 등 각종 교육사업을 다양하고 내실있게 추진한 결과, 전국 청소년과학페어 대상, 전국 이중언어말하기대회 대상, 대한민국 학생 창의력 챔피언대회 최우수상 등을 수상하였고, 지방교육재정분석 7년 연속 우수교육청 등 교육과 행정 부문에서 우수한 성과를 거두었습니다.

2023년 대전교육은 학령인구 감소, 기후위기, 디지털교육 전환 등 급변하는 사회와 교육환경 변화에 민첩하게 대응하고, 미래교육을 선도하기 위해 교육의 내용과 방법을 혁신하여 우리 학생들의 미래역량을 키워 나갈 것입니다. 이를 위해 ‘행복한 학교, 미래를 여는 대전교육’의 비전 아래, 우리 학생들이 희망과 용기를 가지고 저마다의 꿈을 키워 ‘바른 인성과 창의성을 갖춘 세계시민’으로 성장하도록 다음과 같은 교육활동을 추진하겠습니다.
첫째, 미래를 선도하는 창의융합교육을 지속적으로 추진하겠습니다.
학교도서관의 독서인문교육 플랫폼 기능을 강화하고, 예술적 감수성을 키우는 예드림홀과 예감존을 확대 구축하는 등 문예체 체험 중심의 인성교육을 활성화하겠습니다. 첨단과학도시 대전의 특색을 살린 노벨과학 꿈키움 프로젝트 등의 과학융합교육과 AI·SW 디지털 인재교육, 중부권 최초로 설립한 대전수학문화관의 수학 체험 프로그램 운영을 확대할 계획입니다.
또한, 학교 내 초록꿈마당 생태전환교육체험장을 추가 구축하고, 스마트 단말기와 스마트 칠판 보급을 완료할 예정이며, 사용자와 함께 만드는 그린스마트 스쿨 정책사업 등을 추진하여 지속가능한 미래교육 환경을 조성해 나가겠습니다.
둘째, 학생들의 배움과 성장이 중심이 되는 혁신교육을 강화하겠습니다.
미래역량을 기르는 학생 성장 중심 맞춤형 교육과정과 교실수업 혁신을 지원하고, 너두나두 공동교육과정 운영과 학점제형 학교공간 조성으로 2025년 고교학점제 전면 적용을 위해 차근차근히 준비해 나가겠습니다. 유아학비를 지속적으로 지원하고, 공립유치원 교육환경 개선과 통학버스 운영을 확대할 예정이며, 사립유치원 교육기자재와 학급운영비를 지속적으로 지원해 유아교육의 공교육 기능을 강화하겠습니다.
아울러, 지난해 교육부 중앙투자심사를 통과한 대전진로융합교육원 설립을 본격적으로 추진하는 등 학생 개개인의 소질과 적성을 바탕으로, 스스로 진로를 개척해나가도록 진로·직업교육 지원을 활성화하겠습니다.
셋째, 교육기회를 보장하는 책임교육을 이루겠습니다.
찬찬협력강사제, 학습지원 튜터를 확대 지원하는 등 개별 맞춤형 기초학력 지원시스템을 강화하고, 초등 전일제교육을 위한 방과후학교·돌봄지원센터를 확대 구축하며, 공립 대안학교와 서남부지역 특수교육 수요에 부응하는 특수학교 신설을 추진하는 등 출발선을 보장하는 책임교육에 최선을 다하겠습니다.
이와 함께, 대전외국어교육원 설립을 추진할 계획이고, 무상급식비 단가 인상으로 질 높은 학교급식을 지원하며, 초등 방과후학교 자유수강권 지원비를 인상하고 현장체험학습비와 졸업앨범비 등을 중위소득 80% 이하로 대상자를 확대 지원하는 등 교육지원을 강화할 계획입니다.
넷째, 안전하고 건강한 교육환경을 만들겠습니다.
