[이완섭 서산시장 신년사]
2023년 새해의 출발선에 우리는 다시 섰습니다.
날로 격동하는 시대의 흐름 속에서 더욱 굳세고 건실한 희망으로 새해를 맞습니다.
여러분! 지난해 1천 7백여 공직자는 새로운 희망과 변화를 열망하는 시민의 마음을 품고 물러섬 없이 한 걸음 한 걸음을 내디뎌왔습니다.
역동적인 성장과 국토균형발전의 중심지로 발돋움하고 명실상부한 충남 서해안의 중심도시로 자리매김하기 위한 도약의 문을 열었습니다.
자원회수시설과 청소년문화의집을 착공했고 중왕항 어촌뉴딜 300, 어울림체육관, 가족센터 등을 준공하며 시민의 삶의 질과 복지를 강화했습니다.
서산해미읍성축제, 서산국화축제, 서산시민체육대회 등 다시 열리게 된 대규모 행사도 성공리에 치러냈습니다.
대통령상을 비롯한 수많은 상급기관상을 입상하며 행정력도 입증했습니다.
예산은 13년 만에 닥친 정부의 건전 재정 기조라는 찬바람 속에서도 1조 1천300여억 원이라는 역대 최대액을 편성하는 기염도 토했습니다.
여러분! 이제 시작입니다. ‘도약하는 서산, 살맛나는 서산’은 서산시가 나아가야 할 목표이자 제가 이뤄야 할 신념입니다.
서산공항, 가로림만 해양정원, 대산항 국제크루즈선 유치, 차세대항공교통(UAM) 실증 테스트베드 유치, 수소산업 등 주요 사업이 산적합니다.
반드시 이뤄내겠습니다. ‘승풍파랑(乘風破浪)’의 기세로 시민 여러분과 함께 ‘해뜨는 서산’을 완성해 내겠습니다.
힘과 지혜의 바람을 모아 함께 노를 저어간다면, 어떠한 파고의 물결도 헤쳐 반드시 희망의 종착지에 도달할 것입니다.
