‘함안 천제산 일원 가야토기 생산유적’ 국가 사적 승격 본격 추진

[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 가야토기 국내 최대 생산지인 함안 천제산 일원 가야토기 생산유적이 국가 사적 승격을 위한 본격 추진에 나선다.

함안군은 10일 ‘가야토기 생산유적 연구용역’ 착수보고회를 열고 용역수행 업체인 (재)가야문물연구원의 사업추진계획에 대한 보고와 자문위원 질의응답 순으로 진행됐다.

이번 ‘가야토기 생산유적 연구 용역’은 2022년 문화재청 사적예비문화재 지원사업에 선정돼 추진됐으며, 가야토기의 생산과 유통 자료를 집대성함으로써 장기적인 연구자료를 확보하고, ‘함안 천제산 일원 가야토기 생산유적’의 국가 사적 지정을 위한 학술심포지엄 개최, 사적지정 신청서 작성을 주요 과업으로 하고 있다.

‘함안 천제산 일원 토기생산유적’은 가야토기의 국내 최대 생산지로 가야를 대표하는 물질문화인 토기가 생산되고 유통되는 과정을 가장 잘 보여주는 중요한 자료로서 역사적 가치를 높게 평가받아 왔으며, 발굴조사가 완료된 2개 지점이 2022년 경상남도 기념물 ‘함안 우거리 토기가마군’으로 지정됐다.
