[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 16일 군청 대회의실에서 학력인정 과정 졸업생과 내빈 40여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘제7회 거창군 성인문해 학력인정 프로그램 졸업식’을 개최했다.
졸업식에는 초등 6명, 중학 11명이 졸업의 영광을 안았으며, 이들을 축하하기 위해 이명주 거창교육지원청 교육장과 박수자 군의회 부의장을 비롯한 군의원, 교사, 가족들이 참석해 졸업의 기쁨을 함께 나눴다.
졸업생 17명은 군수와 도교육감으로부터 졸업장과 학력인정서를 받았으며, 졸업생 대부분은 상급 학교인 중학과정과 아림고등학교에 입학해 만학을 이어갈 예정이다.
최고령자인 손석순 학습자(만79세)는 “73세에 처음 초등과정에 입학해 공부를 시작했는데 6년이라는 세월이 순시간에 흘러 중학교까지 졸업을 하게 되어 기쁘다”며 “아림고등학교 진학을 앞두고 있으나 건강이 허락하는 한 대학 진학까지 하고 싶다”며 소감을 밝혔다.

구인모 거창군수는 “뒤늦은 배움에도 포기하지 않고 졸업을 맞이한 학습자들의 노력과 새로운 도전에 응원의 박수를 보내며, 배움에서 소외되지 않도록 관심을 가지고 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
