화장실문화시민연대는 3월21일자 보도자료에서 “이날 서대문경찰서, (주)한국스파이존, (주)한국몰가드와 함께 화장실 내에서의 불법 촬영은 중대한 범죄행위라는 캠페인을 벌였다”면서 “시범 시연 등은 서울 교통공사 관할인 충정로역, 신촌역, 홍제역 등에서 벌이는 행사”라고 덧붙였다.
이어 “캠페인 중 만난 시민들에게 (주)몰가드에서 제공한 불법촬영 탐지카드를 나눠 줬으며, (주) 한국스파이존과 (주)몰가드의 불법카메라 찾기 장비를 활용하여 함께 불법카메라 찾는 방법 등을 시연했다”면서 “이날 함께 캠페인을 주관한 서대문경찰서 성폭력 담당 신소라 경위는 '화장실 내불법촬영 적발 시 5천만원의 벌금과 7년 이하의 징역형에 처해지지만 어떤 형태의 성폭력이라도 법 감정을 떠나 우리사회에서 발붙이지 못하도록 함께 도와달라'고 강조했다“고 소개했다.

표혜령 화장실문화시민연대 대표는 이 행사와 관련 “서울 서대문 경찰서는 화장실문화시민연대와 5년 전부터 MOU를 맺고 화장실 내에서 불법 촬영이 없는 사회를 만들기 위해 몰카 찾기 캠페인을 꾸준히 함께 해오고 있다”면서 “정부나 기관들이 함께 노력하고 있으나 성폭력 근절을 위해선 나도 피해를 당할 수 있다는 마음으로 시민 한 사람 한 사람 모두가 감시자가 되면 불법 촬영은 사라질 수 있다”고 말했다.
화장실 내 불법촬영 금지 캠페인은 3월 21일, 23일, 28일 계속 실시된다. 화장실문화시민연대측은 화장실 내 불법 촬영현장이 발견되면 즉시 112에 신고를 해달라고 부탁했다.
