[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 의령군이 국가균형발전위원회에서 주관하는 ‘2023년 취약지역 생활여건 개조사업’ 공모에 신청 대상지 2개소 모두 선정되어 40억원의 사업비를 확보했다고 27일 밝혔다.
취약지역 생활여건 개조사업은 주민의 기본적인 생활수준을 보장하기 위해 안전·위생 등 긴요한 생활 인프라를 확충하고 주거환경 개선, 주민역량강화 등을 지원하는 사업이다.
지난해에는 봉수면 방계마을이 선정돼 사업비 18억원을 확보했다.

올해 사업대상지인 의령읍 오감마을, 화정면 덕교마을은 그동안 30년 이상 된 노후주택, 슬레이트 지붕, 재래식 화장실 등 취약한 주거환경으로 큰 불편을 겪어왔다.
군은 이번 공모사업 선정에 따라 올해부터 2026년까지 4년간 ‘의령읍 오감마을 19억원’ ‘화정면 덕교마을 21억원’ 사업비를 투입해 노후주택 정비, 빈집 철거, 보행환경 개선, 마을회관 리모델링, 위험하면 보강 등의 정비사업을 추진한다.
오태완 군수는 “앞으로도 취약한 마을을 지속 발굴하고 농촌지역 주거 환경개선을 통해 주민불편 해소와 삶의 질 개선, 더불어 마을에 활력을 불어넣어 골고루 더 살기 좋은 의령을 만들겠다”고 말했다.
