거창 쌀, 미주 수출 10만불 달성

[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 30일 동거창농협 경제사업장에서 구인모 군수, 이재현 동거창농협 조합장 및 임직원 등 20여명이 참석한 가운데 거창 쌀 미주 수출 10만불 달성 기념 선적식을 가졌다.

거창 쌀은 지난해 12월 ㈜경남무역을 통해 쌀 20톤을 미국에 수출한 것을 시작으로 국제적으로 품질을 인정받아 쌀 수출이 지속적으로 이어지고 있다.

이날 선적된 쌀 20톤은 지난해 거창군이 주최한 ‘미주시장 개척 마케팅 행사’에서 동거창농협과 뉴저지 유통벤더와 체결한 업무협약의 후속조치로 추진됐으며 지난 2월에는 동거창농협 자체 브랜드인 ‘하데이쌀’을 캐나다로 수출해 미주시장 총 수출액 10만불을 달성했다.

이재현 조합장은 “앞으로도 거창의 우수한 쌀을 해외에 알리고 안정적인 판로 확보를 통해 동거창농협의 발전과 농가 소득 증대를 위해 힘쓰겠다”고 전했다.

구인모 군수는 “거창 쌀 미주 수출 10만불 달성을 축하하고 우수한 쌀을 생산하기 위한 우리 농민들의 노력이 미주시장에서 인정받아 쌀 수출이 지속되고 있다”며 “이번 수출 성과를 바탕으로 거창 농산물의 수출시장 개척과 유망품목 발굴을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
